The Code of Conduct for Registered Migration Agents is set out in legislation to regulate
the conduct of Registered Migration Agents. It prescribes Registered Migration Agents' obligations towards clients.
Provision for a Code of Conduct for Migration Agents is set out in Section 314 of the Migration Act 1958 and is prescribed in Schedule 2, Regulation 8 of the Migration Agents Regulations 1998.
Under Australian law, a person who wishes to operate as a migration agent must be registered with the Office of Migration Agents Registration Authority (“OMARA”). TWGG confirms that its Migration Agents are all registered with OMARA which is responsible for administering the Code of Conduct.
The Code of Conduct is intended to regulate the conduct of Migration Agents. Amongst the requirements of the Code, is the ability of Agents to demonstrate good character as well as competency in the provision of Australian immigration advice and protect the consumers and community.
